I am delighted you are considering Green Hedges School for your family’s educational needs. We believe Green Hedges is a special place. As a non-profit independent school located in the Historic Windover Heights neighborhood of Vienna, Virginia, we provide children a safe, secure environment while maintaining a commitment to the charming, family-friendly community so often found in a neighborhood school.
Since 1942, Green Hedges has upheld the highest standards for academic excellence with graduates regularly attending the most respected secondary schools in the metropolitan DC area and nationwide. Small by design, and rich in opportunities, Green Hedges educates children from aged 3 to Grade 8, providing a robust comprehensive curriculum enriched with outstanding experiences in foreign languages, fine and performing arts, leadership, and character development. An extended day program and after school activities, including interscholastic athletic programs, adds to our overall program. We are a diverse school community (with generous financial aid to qualifying families) that includes families from all religions, races and socio-economic backgrounds.
We seek families who are excited about our mission and philosophy. Children benefit most when school and home cooperate both in goals and in methods. While a true understanding of Green Hedges can only be gained from an on-site visit, this website offers a glimpse into our school and provides details about the admission process.
