Bob Gregg III

Bob Gregg III, Head of School
Day student, boarding student, school president, athlete; coach, teacher, Director of Admissions, Head of Lower School: Bob Gregg brings this abundance of perspectives and experiences in independent schools to his current role as Head of Green Hedges. After graduating from the Holderness School in New Hampshire, he matriculated at the University of New Hampshire with a BA in political science. Of his childhood, he says, “My parents and my teachers were my heroes.”
Because the close relationships he developed with teachers, mentors, and heads of school profoundly influenced his development, after college graduation he began teaching and involving himself with admission work. Soon he decided to work toward an MBA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with an emphasis on non-profits and marketing. He then became Director of Admission and Financial Aid at St. Edward’s School in Vero Beach, Florida, and two years ago came to Green Hedges.
Listening to Bob Gregg, it is easy to see why he was a great match for Green Hedges. Describing what he likes about being a small school, he says, “We are nimble. We can respond to a variety of individual needs, and we can tailor our program by teaching students skills that they will use well after they leave here, their whole lives long.” Mr. Gregg and his wife Katherine, avid ski buffs, survived their epic first Virginia winter quite nicely. Their three daughters, ages three, seven, and ten, all Green Hedges students, had been used to Florida weather, but have made the adjustment.
