2016-17 Goal: $155,000
The Green Hedges Fund is a pool of money that the GHS extended family contributes each year to fund activities and materials. These gifts provide the difference between what is ordinary and what is distinctive about the GHS experience.
‘Done In 61’
‘Done in 61’ is our campaign for current family support of the Green Hedges Fund. This campaign is launched each year in early October. For 2016, we seek to raise $130,000 from current families by early December. Follow our progress here!
Done In 61
Beyond ‘Done in 61’, the Green Hedges Fund is also generously supported by our extended community of alumni, alumni parents, faculty and staff, grandparents and friends. Secure donations to this fund can be made at the link below.
Here are a few examples of what the Green Hedges Fund makes possible:
Green Hedges Fund gifts are tax-deductible and allocated within the fiscal year they are received.

Family of Funds
You may choose to designate your gift to a particular area of the School’s operations which is most meaningful to you. As always, you may choose to make an unrestricted gift to be used wherever the need is greatest.
Matching Gift Programs
Many organizations offer matching gift programs that support K-12 schools. Please check with your employer to see if they will match your gift. This is a great way to leverage the impact of your support by doubling or even tripling your contribution! If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer and send it completed and signed to the Development Office. We will do the rest. Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses too. Green Hedges School is also an accepted “write-in” agency for the United Way of the National Capital Area.
Green Hedges Leadership Donors
Green Hedges’ recognizes those who give $1,000 or more to the Green Hedges Fund as leadership donors.
After twelve years at GHS, we continue to be excited about the school because the academic program is so strong and we believe it is second to none in the Washington metro region. GHS teachers have inspired our kids to learn, compete and push themselves to set and achieve great academic and athletic goals... We’ve seen up close and personal the empowering and exceptionally positive impact GHS teachers and school leadership have had on our kids and countless other students we’ve come to know and love. These days higher charitable giving is harder than ever to prioritize but we believe so strongly in the gift of a GHS education that we find ways to give as much as we can to support the school year after year.Audrey & Dave Young
