Welcome to Green Hedges!
We are delighted your child has been accepted for the 2021-22 school year, and we welcome you to Green Hedges! We can hardly wait to get started and are delighted to have you joining the Green Hedges community.
Below are some Frequently Asked Questions that you may have. Should any other questions arise, please feel free to reach out to Director of Admission Katherine Vazquez at email@example.com. Our parent volunteers will be in contact with new families during the spring and summer and in late June, parents of new students will receive a welcome guide with back-to-school information and summer work for your children.
We look forward to welcoming you to campus in September! In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us in the Office of Admission and Business Office with questions.

Yes! Each year some students are accepted from the wait pool. Movement from the wait pool most often occurs before June 1, but can happen up to the first day of school. The admission office welcomes contact from wait pool families seeking status updates throughout the spring and summer.
Green Hedges School has been open continuously in-person for all students during the 2020-2021 school year and will do so again for the 2021-2022 school year. The only exceptions to this would be an Order from the Governor of Virginia or if there is a significant threat to the safety and health of our students and faculty due to COVID-19.
Green Hedges School accepts children who are motivated and able to learn, who will benefit from our comprehensive curriculum, and who will embrace the School’s Mission and Core Values.

Yes. All students either bring lunch and snack from home or participate in the Green Hedges hot lunch program organized by a third party, Yay! Lunch. Yay! Lunch works with local Vienna businesses to provide a lunch program that can be purchased every day of the week or certain days of the week. Morning snacks for Preschool and Kindergarten are provided by families on a rotational basis.
Yes. Our uniform is required for Grades 1-8. At Green Hedges, students’ clothing should reflect the importance of school and should not distract from the learning environment. All students are expected to arrive at school in clothing that is neat, clean, and appropriate as this helps foster pride in one’s appearance and contributes to an orderly and attractive school environment. To assist parents and children in selecting appropriate attire, the Green Hedges dress code establishes division-specific standards for dress. These standards honor the important work the children engage in on a daily basis.
