Green hedges is excited to announce the new head of school for the 2026-2027 school year:

It is with great excitement and pride that we announce the appointment of Kyle Armstrong as the next Head of School at Green Hedges, effective July 1, 2026. Kyle’s selection concludes a thoughtful and inclusive national search and hiring process and we are confident that he brings the vision, experience, and heart to lead Green Hedges into our next chapter.

A Collaborative and Community-Guided Search

Launched in January 2025, the search was guided by our partners at Carney, Sandoe & Associates and shaped by the voices of our faculty, staff, parents, students, alumni, trustees, Advisory Committee, and Search Committee. From the outset, our goal was to identify a leader who would not only propel Green Hedges forward but do so in a way that honors our mission, core values, and educational philosophy. Through each stage of the process—initial conversations, interviews, and campus visits—Kyle consistently excelled.

He brings:

– Deep leadership experience in independent schools;

– A creative, solutions-oriented mindset that inspires progress;

– A proven ability to get things done with decisiveness and clarity;

– A supportive and collaborative approach that empowers others;

– Outstanding character and a commitment to integrity and care;

– An ability to connect meaningfully with all stakeholders—faculty, staff, families, students, trustees, and alumni alike;

– And an excellent communication style as he listens with empathy and then leads with vision.

Kyle’s warmth, insight, and authenticity resonated deeply with every group he engaged. We are confident he will be an exceptional leader for Green Hedges.

Kyle and his wife, Kristen, are excited to join the Green Hedges community.

Kyle looks forward to working closely with Interim Head of School, Peter Barrett, during a long and thoughtful transition, ensuring a smooth handoff and helping him hit the ground running in July 2026.
