School Accountant Siri Khalsa’s dedication to her work encompasses her devotion to the tasks she performs and to the interactions it affords. “Organization is my superpower,” she says, adding, “I make it my mission to get the accounts payable, billing, and bookkeeping processes done accurately, and strive to go above and beyond to make sure everything is in order; and, I love being around the kids!”
Ms. Khalsa’s aptitude for detail and organization became evident during high school, when she worked in customer service for fashion retailers, soon taking on administrative roles using her process improvement skills to facilitate work flow across departments. Before coming to Green Hedges, she served as office manager for a construction company, where she coordinated over 200 projects for the business. She has been familiar with Green Hedges since late 2019, when her mother, Montessori Directress Ardass Khalsa, began her tenure on campus. Reflecting on her own membership in the community, Ms. Khalsa returns to her relationship with the students: “When I drop off orders to teachers in classrooms, the kids sometimes give me little presents. I keep every one of the gifts in a special box,” she says.
Ms. Khalsa earned an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration at Northern Virginia Community College while teaching herself calculus, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at George Mason University, where she focused on data collection and analysis. In her free time, she enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
